MLC 2006 Training Course
This training course provides an outline of the purpose of the Convention, what it contains and how it works. It encourages thought and understanding about what it means for the individual and their role within their organisation. It offers the opportunity to get up to speed with the legislative changes of the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 and the implications it will have on all those working in the shipping industry. Enrolling on this program demonstrates enhanced knowledge of the Convention and enthusiasm for the new challenges and opportunities it poses.
Those who successfully complete the program will:
- Understand the details of how the Convention affects them
- Review the steps which need to be taken to ensure that their organisation or, in the case of Masters, their ship, complies with the Convention's requirements
The course takes 4-12 hours to complete depending on the modules used. It requires no prerequisites.
All users complete the Introduction and then select the relevant module from the other four
- Module 1: Manning Agents
- Module 2: Members
- Module 3: Ships' Masters
- Module 4: Shipping Company Managers
At the end of the course there is a Final Test to check knowledge of the material within the course comprising questions from all the modular tests. This interactive test is taken online and the score recorded to our secure online database. There is also provision to print a test certificate for your records.
