Louisiana Sheriff’s Deputy Blake Bardwell Arrested, Murdered Wife, Child on Halloween

A deputy with the Ouachita Correctional Center was arrested on Sunday afternoon for allegedly killing his wife and young child, a spokesperson for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office has said. Blake Bardwell, 26, was taken into custody just after 1 p.m. on Halloween, and booked on two counts of second-degree murder. An employee with the correctional center since 2019, Bardwell has since been fired from his position. No other information was immediately available.
